Red copper is a relatively pure copper, which can generally be regarded as pure copper, with good electrical conductivity and plasticity, but poor strength and hardness. A large number of production practices have proved that the hardness of red copper products made by cold extrusion process is not good, and phenomena such as cracking and material shortage often occur. Because, at present, most of the copper products are more or less manufactured by hot extrusion.
The red copper processing, which refers to the use of hydraulic press to apply pressure to the red copper blank to produce plastic deformation to obtain a processing method of forgings with certain mechanical properties, certain shape and size. The hot extrusion copper sleeve molding press machine selects the tonnage and structure appropriately according to the production process of copper.
Copper Hot Extrusion Molding Method
1. Cut the copper raw material according to the preset size, obtain the copper substrate.
2. Heating the red copper substrate to a preset temperature above its recrystallization temperature; the preset temperature includes 800 degrees.
3. Place the copper base material that reaches the preset temperature on a 4000-ton press (hot-pressing copper forming hydraulic press) for hot extrusion to obtain semi-finished copper products.
3. Remove the oxidized black skin on the surface of semi-finished copper products.
4. Machining the semi-finished copper product after removing the oxidized black skin to obtain the finished copper product.
Advantages of Hot Pressing of Copper
The red copper base material is hot-pressed at the set temperature, and the red copper base material has good plasticity due to heating, and at the same time avoids hot brittleness caused by the high set temperature. Through hot extrusion, the shrinkage porosity and porosity defects of the copper base material blank are eliminated, and the internal structure of the blank also reaches the broken grains in the forging state, so that the comprehensive mechanical properties of the blank are significantly improved. The semi-finished copper products obtained by thermoforming are machined to obtain finished copper products with significantly improved physical properties.
